Exploring Barcelona - Part 1

Hello again!

After our delightful nap in our not-so-sturdy bunk beds, we set out to explore Barcelona as much as we could this evening. We were worried we were getting a late start, but the city only got livelier as the sun went down (which wasn't until like 9:30!). As we went, we saw so many incredible buildings and plazas. My favorite were the alleys lined with what seemed to be hundreds of balconies covered in colorful materials, plants, and awnings. As we got deeper into downtown, the buildings became even more beautiful, with tan stone walls and rod iron balconies. The plazas were swarming with people - some drinking sangria through the longest straws we'd ever seen, some laughing over some delicious-looking tapas, some posing as artists drew very impressive portraits in a matter of minutes. There were people everywhere, but not in an over-crowded city kind of way - just a busy and fun place to be.
Little balconies for a little alley.

The other thing that surprised me was all of the mopeds - they are everywhere. I mean I knew they were here, but it's crazy! I am yet to see one motorcycle, but there are some very nice motos. They are lined up on every curb and zoom through traffic like they're the only ones on the road. There are even gangs of them that'll fly through intersections. Looks pretty fun, I have to say, but for eveyone's safety I think it's best none of us drive one of those things. Leave that to the pros.

So. Many. Mopeds.
After wondering all the way to the marina, we found a very cute restaurant with some serious mood lighting and a very cool wooden winding staircase. We ate so much and it was all so good! After dinner we made our way back to our apartment, showered up, and are now climbing into bed. Tomorrow we are headed for Madrid! Buenos noches!

Vino we are cool.

Addy's Hiccup Count: At least 27. It was concerning.

Victoria's Phone Count: 2...one for each hand.

Addy's Step Count: >10,000. Keep stepping!

Other funny sightings:
Globalization is real - only thing learned from Human Systems is in fact true.

Ah, yes. The Butt Market. I can only hope those with membership cards are called Super Butts.

Just a man taking his CPU for a walk in a stroller. No, he's not a Mines student...I think.

So cool!

You light up my life.
